ABOVE IS A GREAT JIG FOR FISHING POORBOYS.  FINDING A JIG WITH A HOOK BIG ENOUGH IS HARD.  THESE WORK AWESOME.  COLORS #19 And #78 ARE MY FAVORITES.

WWW.BERKLEY-FISHING.COM  Berkley Trilene has been around forever for a reason.  Its great line.  Strong enough to withstand rocks and stumps but smooth enough to cast a mile.  Well one thing I have found out is that on Lake Michigan as well as other clear waters Trilene 100% Fluorocarbon line is a must.  It cast great and is super strong.  It has great knot strenght also.  Give it a try and you will be shocked in this fluorocarbon

Alive is a little different then anything you have ever used.  It is a formula that is made by Berkley that uses no plastic in it.  It is made of natural materials such as ground up live bait.   I have had great success using this when the water is cold.  Big Smallmouths can't say no to this strong formula.  On Lake Michigan the best baits made by Gulp I have used are the 4 and 3 inch Gulp! Alive Minnow in the Smelt and Pearl Watermelon colors.  Above is a picture of the Smelt pattern.  Give these baits a try when the water is cold and fishing is tough it will make a difference.

WWW.LURESECURE.NET  I recently stumbled upon this product.  It is a great idea and a great way to be safer on the water.  It fits over your lure while it is on your rod.  It is made of heavy duty plastic with velcro to secure it to your rod.  It takes about 5 seconds to put on or take off.  This is way to cut down on the chance of injury from hooks as well as make your life easier on the boat.  When using this you can have multiple rods right next to each other and they will never tangle.  This alone will save me valuable time.  This is a great idea for an fisherman.
